Security and Data Protection
CALIDA (CALIDA AG, Industrie Müningen, CH-6210 Sursee, Switzerland) and their service providers attach great importance to the protection of your data. We gather, process and use your personal data only in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations and the principles described below.
1) Recording and use of personal data
Personal data are only gathered, processed or used by CALIDA if this is permitted by a legal regulation or you have previously consented to this. In particular, your personal data are gathered, processed and used for the following purposes:
a. Contact inquiry
We use your information (such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number) only to process your contact inquiry. We delete all data after processing your inquiry.
b. Registration for online shop, online orders and contests
Without your further consent, we use your information (such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, fax number) also only for handling your order or your participation in contests and – if so requested by you – for registering your online customer account.
We reserve the right to contact customers registered in the online shop by e-mail to tell them about important information and changes.
If you decide to open an online customer account, you can view past orders at any time at a later date simply by entering your e-mail address and your chosen password, and you can use different address information you have previously entered for future orders.
Naturally, you can close your online customer account at any time if you so wish; the account will then no longer be available online. We will then delete your personal data after the end of any statutory retention periods. Please send a corresponding e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
c. Sending advertisements, e.g. by e-mail
Only with your express consent will we regularly send you information on CALIDA products and offers by e-mail. You can grant your consent while placing an order, when setting up your online customer account or under “Newsletter” on the website.
Otherwise, your personal data will not be used for sending regular advertisements.
d. Right of objection to advertisements
You can object to the use of your personal data for purposes of advertising and revoke previous consent at any time. If you no longer wish to receive newsletters by e-mail, you can use the “Unsubscribe” function at the end of the newsletter. You can also send a brief e-mail to email@example.com or a letter to CALIDA AG, Industrie Müningen, CH-6210 Sursee.
e. Online applications
If you apply online for one of our jobs, training places or internships, we will use your information only for processing your application and the management of your employment with us. If your data are no longer required for this purpose, they will be deleted and any documents sent will be returned or destroyed.
f. Involvement of third parties
In order to ensure the best possible service, we also involve third parties to the extent permitted by law only for the proper performance of the above purposes. We commission other companies and individuals to perform tasks for us such as delivery of packages, sending letters or e-mails or processing payments. These partners are contractually required not to use these data for purposes other than those described here.
2) Cookies and web tracking
In order to allow the use of certain functions, we use what are known as cookies on various pages. These are small files that are automatically saved to your hard drive when you visit our Internet site. A cookie only contains information that we send to your computer – it cannot access your private data. The majority of cookies that we use are intended to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure, and to ensure that it functions smoothly – e.g. when tracking your shopping basket or making a payment. Cookies are deleted from your hard drive at the end of a browser session. This also applies to cookies used by our payment service provider Datatrans (session cookies). Other cookies make it easier for visitors to use the website while obviating the need to re-enter all of the data each time they visit. A further cookie for example remains on your computer and merely allows us to note your previous language and country choices (known as a permanent cookie). As a rule, all other cookies are active for two hours and renewed each time a page is accessed. Session cookies are deleted at the end of a browser session.
Cookies are used to store the following data:
>For registered customers: last log-in date, language settings, title, first and last name and email address.
>For registered customers that also enter a billing or delivery address: street, postcode, city, country and telephone number.
>For every order placed: date and time of order, IP address, first and last name, date of birth (if stated), billing and delivery address and selected payment method.
>During the browser session: selected items in the shopping basket, category information on viewed products, information about the website visitor (see above), "Wish List" products, cookies for web analytics (more in section b) etc.
b. Anonymous web tracking with Google Analytics
However, as a result of our activation of IP anonymity, your IP address is first shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to the Google server in the US and shortened there.
Google will use this information on our behalf to assess anonymously your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to perform further services for us associated with website and Internet use. The IP address sent by your browser for Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.
You can prevent the recording of the data generated by the cookie and the data relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the plugin from the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de
c. Use of epoq for web analytics
This website uses technology from epoq internet services GmbH (www.epoq.de) to collect and store anonymised data to create user profiles under pseudonyms. The user profiles are used to analyse visitor behaviour and help us improve the user experience on our website. Cookies may be used for this purpose. The information generated by cookies may be transmitted to a server located in another country and stored there. With the epoq engine, neither we nor the operator of the analytics tool can collect personal information that would enable identification of the user. More information about privacy with epoq is available here: https://www.epoq.de/de/datenschutz/[A1] If you do not want anonymised user profiles to be created for web analytics purposes, you can prevent this as described in d):
d. Accepting and rejecting cookies, including for Google Analytics and Epoq
You can declare your acceptance or rejection of all cookies, including cookies for Google Analytics, using the settings of your browser. You can set up your browser so that it informs you if cookies are saved or rejects them generally.
Naturally you can also set up your browser not to accept any cookies. However, this may render certain of our services unusable. Instructions for deactivating cookies in your browser can be found using its help function or here:
www.calida.com uses the social plugins of the social network Facebook, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The plugins are indicated with a Facebook logo. An overview of the Facebook plugins and how they look can be found here: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins. If you visit a www.calida.com page with such a plugin, your browser creates a direct connection with the Facebook servers and the content of the plugin is sent by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into this website.
Using plugins gives Facebook the information that your browser accessed our website even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not currently logged in to Facebook. This information (including your IP address) is sent from your browser directly to a Facebook server in the US and saved there. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can attribute your visit to our website directly to your Facebook account. If you actively use the plugin and click on the appropriate button, you can also share this information with your friends and publish it on Facebook – depending on your Facebook settings. CALIDA has no influence on the content of plugins or the sending of information.
In particular, Facebook can use this information for the purposes of advertising, market research and designing Facebook pages to meet demand. To do this, Facebook creates usage, interest and relationship profiles, for example, to analyse your use of our website in terms of the advertisements shown to you on Facebook, to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to perform further services associated with the use of Facebook. Facebook compiles detailed information on the scope, type, use and processing of your data on its pages. Further information on your rights and settings to protect your privacy can also be found here (http://www.facebook.com/policy.php).
If you do not wish for Facebook to assign the data gathered by our website to your Facebook account, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our site and delete the cookies created.
5) Data security
We protect our website and connected systems against the loss, destruction, access, modification or dissemination of your data by unauthorised parties in line with the legally prescribed technical and organisational measures. When entering particularly sensitive data (e.g. payment data), we encrypt your data for your security using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) with at least 128-bit encryption.
6) Retention periods
Your data are only saved for as long as necessary to perform our services or for as long as legally required. In the event of applicants not being hired, we delete data from the online application system after twelve months.
If you have any questions on the gathering and use of your personal data by CALIDA, we will be happy to provide you with information on the data saved about you at any time, free of charge and without delay. Please send your message by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by post to CALIDA AG, Industrie Müningen, CH-6210 Sursee.
8) Changes and updates to data protection provisions
CALIDA can change or update its data protection provisions, including in relation to the laws and regulations to which this matter is subject and that protect your rights. We therefore ask that you read the corresponding area of the website regularly and take note of the latest data protection provisions.
