a. Cookies
In order to allow the use of certain functions, we use what are known as cookies on various pages. These are small files that are automatically saved to your hard drive when you visit our Internet site. A cookie only contains information that we send to your computer – it cannot access your private data. The majority of cookies that we use are intended to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure, and to ensure that it functions smoothly – e.g. when tracking your shopping basket or making a payment. Cookies are deleted from your hard drive at the end of a browser session. This also applies to cookies used by our payment service provider Datatrans (session cookies). Other cookies make it easier for visitors to use the website while obviating the need to re-enter all of the data each time they visit. A further cookie for example remains on your computer and merely allows us to note your previous language and country choices (known as a permanent cookie). As a rule, all other cookies are active for two hours and renewed each time a page is accessed. Session cookies are deleted at the end of a browser session.

Cookies are used to store the following data:

>For registered customers: last log-in date, language settings, title, first and last name and email address.

>For registered customers that also enter a billing or delivery address: street, postcode, city, country and telephone number.

>For every order placed: date and time of order, IP address, first and last name, date of birth (if stated), billing and delivery address and selected payment method.

>During the browser session: selected items in the shopping basket, category information on viewed products, information about the website visitor (see above), "Wish List" products, cookies for web analytics (more in section b) etc.

b. Anonymous web tracking with Google Analytics

Google Analytics uses cookies, text files that are saved on your computer, to allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information on your use of this website generated by the cookie is normally transferred to a Google server in the US and saved there.

However, as a result of our activation of IP anonymity, your IP address is first shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to the Google server in the US and shortened there.

Google will use this information on our behalf to assess anonymously your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to perform further services for us associated with website and Internet use. The IP address sent by your browser for Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the recording of the data generated by the cookie and the data relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google and the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the plugin from the following link:
