Working from home – our outfit tips

Almost a third of Swiss employees work from home at least once a week – and the number is rising. Not so surprising, considering the increasing droves of commuters. Your working-from-home outfit can be a bit more leisurely and casual, but should still look smart. We’ve put together a few outfits for men.

With our home office outfit tips, you'll look professional and still feel comfortable.

After all, working from home is still work!

The daily commute and the fixed workplace are becoming less and less significant – and with them the strict business dress code. When you’re working from home, you can get away with a less formal look. However, that doesn’t mean you can wear your weekend outfit or look like you just got out of bed. Working from home is still work! So no pyjamas, and no wearing last night’s loungewear. Your outfit can be more laid back, but should still be something you can wear out and about.

Some more helpful tips for a successful day working from home:

  • Set up a proper work station

  • Make sure you have the right lighting and the right temperature

  • Air the room on a regular basis

  • Invest in a good office chair – there’s nothing worse than spending the whole day sitting in a normal chair with the wrong posture.

  • Keep your workspace clean and make sure you have everything you need to hand.

  • Set yourself goals and maintain a disciplined structure to your day.

  • Keep in contact with your colleagues while you’re working from home and exchange ideas.

  • Take proper breaks! Take time out for a lunch break.

  • Housework is off limits – emptying the dishwasher will have to wait until after work.

  • Make sure you stop working at the end of the day.
