Our materials
Selected for you. There is the right fibre for every moment in life. We select our materials with the utmost care and rely on high-quality natural fibres, among other things. Together with our production partners, we are constantly developing new processes and products that are ahead of their time and set standards throughout the industry.
Cotton
The longer, finer, and more uniform cotton fibers are, the higher the quality of the fabric produced. We use only fiber lengths of 25 to 50 mm, which are particularly smooth, soft, easy to care for, and durable. Together with our suppliers, we are strengthening social and environmental standards through our Supplier Code of Conduct, while our collections feature different types of cotton, including Swiss cotton that meets strict quality criteria.
Our high-quality merino wool is characterised by particularly fine fibres that feel pleasantly soft against the skin. Merino wool naturally helps balance moisture and temperature, supporting a balanced and comfortable feel.
TENCEL™ fibres are made from the natural raw material wood and are produced with at least 50% less carbon emissions and water consumption*. TENCEL™ Lyocell and Modal fibres support a natural dry feeling through moisture regulation, are naturally soft and smooth to the touch.
SeaCell™ is an exceptionally soft cellulose fibre containing Icelandic brown algae. The algae are carefully harvested and permanently incorporated into the cellulose during fibre production. The result is a pleasantly soft material with a silky feel and exceptional comfort, making it particularly suitable for garments worn close to the skin.
Diversity that makes a noticeable difference at every moment.
Our certifications
We have been voluntarily fulfilling the strictest standards for the safety and environmental compatibility of our materials and manufacturing processes for years. For the best feeling, and not just on your skin.
OEKO-TEX® STeP
OEKO-TEX® STeP (STeP = Sustainable Textile Production) is a certification system for production facilities in the textile industry. It assesses and evaluates, among other aspects, the use of environmentally friendly technologies and products, working conditions and the environmental impact of certified facilities.
Selected dyeing facilities working with CALIDA are certified according to OEKO-TEX® STeP. The certification applies to these production partners and does not cover the entire supply chain.
OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is the world’s most important testing and certification system for textiles that are tested for harmful substances, and guarantees maximum product safety. Since 1995, all product components at CALIDA, i.e. all threads, buttons, elastics, embroidery, labels and other accessories, have been tested according to over 300 annually updated criteria.
No down. No fur. CALIDA uses only responsibly sourced materials – free from real fur and entirely down-free. Our collections stand for uncompromising comfort, high-quality craftsmanship and ethical responsibility.
