Cradle to Cradle Certified® affirms that all components can be returned to the biological cycle after use. This natural process maintains the quality of the raw materials over many product life cycles. Instead of waste, biological nutrients are created for renewable raw materials from which new clothing can be made.

    Should Cradle to Cradle Certified® products ever reach the end of their life, they can in principle be disposed in an in-house garden or worm compost. Alternatively they can be sent back to CALIDA for recycling and a return to the biological cycle or be returned to a CALIDA shop.

    If you have chosen to return your garment to the biological cycle via garden or worm compost, you are directly following the Cradle to Cradle® principle: Within a few months, your garment will be transformed by its natural components into valuable biological nutrients and reintroduced into the nutrient cycle.

    The renewable raw materials and substances are the basis for new products. Materials such as TENCEL™ are used, which is derived from wood and comes from controlled sustainable forestry. With the Cradle to Cradle® principle, all components of the certified articles can be completely returned to the biological cycle after use without producing waste.

Our other certificates.

MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® is a product label that is awarded according to strict social and ecological criteria. It is one of the few labels that takes into account both of the textile industry’s main criteria: the materials used and the production process itself. It combines the certification requirements from STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® and STeP by OEKO-TEX®. A unique product ID allows our customers to trace the supply chain in detail via a QR code.
