Trust is good, proof is better. That’s why we decided to introduce the MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® label, one of the most transparent and stringent certifications available. It allows our customers to trace the supply chain of every certified product in detail, right back to the raw materials used.
Meeting the highest quality, social and ecological standards and maintaining transparent communication is a daily challenge – but it has been an intrinsic part of our business right from the start. It was therefore a logical step to have our products certified by an independent and internationally recognised textile label.
The label combines CALIDA’s sustainability goals for materials, ecology and social ethics as links in an inseverable chain. Several years ago, we voluntarily committed ourselves to the amfori BSCI standards of social responsibility; in addition, all of our products are produced in compliance with the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

Certification and requirements for MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX®
In 2015, CALIDA decided to consolidate the efforts made by the different sub-sectors by introducing STeP by OEKO-TEX® and MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX®. MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® is a product label for safe and sustainably produced ready-made garments. One of the requirements for the MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® label is the certification of all production facilities with STeP by OEKO-TEX®.

The difference between STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® and STeP by OEKO-TEX®
STeP by OEKO-TEX® is a certification that must be carried out for each individual, pre-defined stage of production. MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX®, on the other hand, is a label applied to products that are manufactured by companies that have been certified with STeP by OEKO-TEX®. The MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® label can be requested only after the entire predetermined chain of production has been certified with STeP by OEKO-TEX®.
The OEKO-TEX® Association is based in Zurich and was founded over 20 years ago. It is a cooperation comprising 16 independent textile research and verification organisations worldwide. The international OEKO-TEX® Association stands for the highest level of product safety and sustainable production in the textile chain through continuous optimisation.
Transparency thanks to product IDs and QR codes
Each item carrying the MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® label can be transparently traced using a unique product ID in the form of a number or QR code.
The product ID provides information about where the textile was produced along the textile chain, the stage of production in which the factories are involved and the countries where the items are made. Simply go to www.madeingreen.com and enter the product ID or scan the QR code with a barcode app on your smartphone.
